🚀Revisiting Compound Interest
You are probably familiar with the concept of compound interest. It is often used in financial circles as it relates to the power of investing early and letting the interest on the investments earn more interest. It is used to encourage people to invest early to get maximum gains.
What we do not think of when it comes to compound interest is how effective this is in our regular everyday life and interactions. I summed up this concept in my book review of The Almanack of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson. You can catch my video summary here:
I started to see this with my YouTube channel. I have only been posting for about 8 weeks. I took me about 1 month to get 100 views. It took me 20 days to get the next 100 views and it only took me another 4 days to get the next 50 views. I am up to 250 views on my channel as of the writing of this post.
The bottom line on this is that you can benefit from compound interest in everything you invest in during the life. We think of it mostly in the terms of money, but we invest in our families, our jobs, and our relationships with other people, and our passions and talents. When kind of return have you experienced? Studies will support the fact that those that pick a career path, friends, or spouse earlier in life will experience much larger rewards later in life. The “X” factor in all of this is that it has to be the right one. Find a career early, find good friends early in life, and find fall in love early. Cultivate those choices and the compound interest will speak for itself.
🎥The Latest on my YouTube Channel
I just posted my video reviewing the SECRET on how to get FREE Ivy League University course. The online learning market is hot. Hop on the train and SkillUp this year. You can check out the video here:
🏆What I am learning
⌨️I am embarrassed, so I promised to never llok back on the past. My quest to improve my typing speed and accuracy continues. I am sorry to report that at the start of the project, my average typing speed was 40 WPM. That is in line with the average person, and I can tell you that I spend much more time on the computer everyday than the average person. I have to increase this number. It has only been a week and I can honestly say I have seen NO improvement. Time for me to step my game up. I am graduating from the basic speed tests to more practical help like knowing where to put my fingers.
📖What I am reading
No updates here. I am still working through my sample of The Minimalist Entrepreneur. I will be buying the full version shortly along with the rest of my reading plan for the year. This will be one of twelve books that I will be buying as my plan is to read one book a month in 2022. If you are interested in this book, you can Purchase the Minimalist Entrepreneur Here
🛠️Project Updates
⌨️Increasing my typing efficiency: Here are my results:
Starting average: 40 WPM
Week ending 3/6/22: Typing average 40 WPM
🏗️ Studio makeover: They just delivered my new keyboard. I am trying a mechanical keyboard for the first time. I am starting with the IQUNIX F96 Coral Sea Color. It is definitely on the expensive side and takes a while to get used to it. I am typing this newsletter on it, and I know I have spent a lot more time than usual on it because of so many mistakes. It looks fantastic and it feels great typing on it but the feel is way different. I am hoping it works out for me because I really like how it looks on my desk and I like the feel of typing on it. Here is a link to the keyboard: IQUNIX F96 Coral Sea Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. I will have complete home office tour available on my channel in the coming weeks but here is just a sneak peak of what this keyboard looks like (for those that aren’t already familiar).
✅New Business Checklist: I am making progress on this check list. I have a few more weeks of tweaks before publishing it. Stay tuned…
🚀Becoming a Blockchain Developer: This is coming along nicely. I found some more resources from high quality institutions. Harvard and MIT courses are now on the list.
❤️What I am loving
🔥Lobby3.io. This is a new lobbying initiative by former presidential candidate Andrew Yang. I do not want to use this forum to get into politics. (We all know there are plenty of outlets for that), but I do want to mention this initiative as it is a way to get involved in using blockchain technology for good. As someone who is interested in this field I am loving the concept behind the initiative.
📽️Internet Made Coder: This is a new YouTube channel that I came across. Nicely produced and full of some great resources. You can check him out here: Internet Made Coder - YouTube

I am still amazed at how sometimes the simplest things can have the biggest meaning.
I have been with my wife for 17 years. We have always had our own cars. This means it has been our individual responsibilities to take care of the cars on our terms. I would occasionally take my wife’s car to get cleaned or to have maintenance on it. She usually stays on top of it, so I don’t pay it much mind. This weekend I scheduled an appointment to get the oil changed and for it to have a regular checkup. On my way home I felt compelled to take it through the car wash and spend some time cleaning out the interior. I also stopped and filled up the gas tank, even though she really did not need it. Simple stuff in my book but when I got home and told her what I did, so was so happy and excited!!! She was surprised that I took that initiative. It got me to thinking…..why didn’t I do it sooner. We have been together for 17 YEARS!!!!
It is the simplest things sometimes that means so much. What simple thing can you start doing today that can make someone’s day?
